Meals on Wheels Launches Fund to Help Seniors Affected by COVID-19

Since 2013, Chef Jeff McInnis has served as CEO at Sunny Side Up Hospitality, a North Miami, Florida-based company through which he operates several successful restaurants across the country. Over the years, Chef Jeff McInnis has leveraged his professional skills and resources to support charitable groups such as Meals on Wheels.

In an effort to meet a growing demand for its services among the elderly and others impacted by the COVID-19 virus, Meals on Wheels America recently launched its COVID-19 Response Fund. Donations to the fund will be used to purchase food and supplies, cover transportation and personnel costs, and facilitate supply-chain management with national partners. Funds will also be directed toward enabling tech-based tools that can be used to check in on seniors who are considered vulnerable.

Since its launch in March 2020, the Meals on Wheels COVID-19 Response Fund has already drawn the support of several major donors. These include Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association, which are contributing a joint donation of $1 million.

In addition to corporations and other large organizations, Meals on Wheels is counting on individual donors to support its COVID-19 response efforts. Those interested in helping out can learn more at http://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org.
