The StarChefs Rising Star Awards

Entrepreneur and restaurateur Chef Jeff McInnis is the CEO of Sunny Side Up Hospitality. The company owns and operates five restaurant brands in Indiana, Florida, New York, and Puerto Rico. In 2008, Chef Jeff McInnis received the StarChefs Rising Star Award for his recipe “Lemon and Apricot Roasted Chicken with Sardinian Couscous Risotto, Pistachio, Manchego.”

In StarChefs Rising Stars Magazine, the term “rising star” refers to up-and-coming professionals who possess strong culinary philosophies and are committed to sharing their knowledge with fellow chefs. The StarChefs Rising Star Award recognizes their ambition, creativity, and presentation.

The StarChefs Rising Star Awards have seven categories. To qualify for any of the categories, nominees should be under 40 years old and should have less than a decade of experience as an executive chef. Nominees for the awards are selected by the StarChefs Advisory Board, previous recipients of Rising Star Awards, StarChef’s editorial research, and local food media.

The winners are chosen by an editorial team that conducts interviews and tastings. StarChef Rising Stars Magazine has a section called “Why They Shine” in which the editors feature the winners and the dishes that helped them win the awards.
